「 Synopsis 」

Paigu lived his teenage life in a small town in Malaysia in the 1990's. The beach here is not that beautiful, however, the verdant rice fields are that attractive.

Drinking, smoking, gambling, and street fighting were becoming the way of Paigu and his friends' life. Wan Ching came into Paigu's life. They hang out and talked about everything on their date.

Soon after, Wan Ching’s parents arranged her life. However, Paigu takes the counsel of the time and surrenders the things of the youth. Rice fields are ripened again, they are just the nobodies.

「 Director Statement 」

Libai wrote a poem titled “Bringing in the Wine” more than a thousand years before, which content was “See how the Yellow River's waters move out of heaven. Entering the ocean, never to return.” Coincidentally, Luo Tayo also had written a song which is the same title in 1982.

All rivers will meet when they run into the sea. Looking at the foreign country’s estuaries and inlets, maybe the water from the estuaries and inlets will run into the Yellow River because all rivers meet the ocean.

The ancestors of the Malaysian Chinese migrated to this land. From that moment on, their descendants were born and raised in here. For the younger generation, they learn the same language, watch the same movies, and listen to the same songs with us Chinese. And for the children, they go to international schools, some of them even can not know not Chinese.

Our team shoots the film in a town where is a one-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. We have devoted all kinds of our feelings into this film, such as passion of life and homesickness. And maybe, the Yellow river is just a river with a name to the younger generation.
