「 Synopsis 」

 

        In the late 1990s, a large family was reunited to welcome the arrival of the new millennium, while the sound of firecrackers outside the window proclaiming the change of the times. Teenager Luo Yi’s older generation experienced different trajectories through turbulent times.

​

        In the small family of Luo Yi and his parents, three of them had to face their own choices for the future at the turn of the century, while a new era arrived.

「 Director Statement 」

 

        The 1990s is an era that made me nostalgic, because it is not only the time our generation grew up, but also since then we have experienced the transformation of the collective economy into market economy, the changes brought about by the Internet during our adolescence, and the real economy declining until now. We have witnessed the changes of the older generation in that era, when were teenagers. Now that we have grown up to this age, we are also in a new transformation of the times. Everything has changed, and it seems to have not changed.

        Such stories start and end while times keep changing, and ordinary memories are like we look up at the distant twinkling stars in the night sky. We see the present, but their past.
